The ways Applebee’s message is expressed
  • Website- offers special coupons
  • Social media- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat
    • Facebook: Post pictures of food and videos depicting a great dining experience.
    • Twitter: Applebee’s utilizes twitter to retweet compliments and/or pictures of good customer interactions at their restaurants, to post professionally shot pictures of special menu items, and interact and engage with customers.
      • Utilize a hashtag #livelunch to form discussions with consumers.
    • Instagram: Post appetizing looking pictures of menu items to try to get customers in the door.
  • TV commercials
    • Depict the half-appetizer deal with trendy looking actors and mood-lighting to show Applebee’s is a hip place to go for teens and young adults on a weekend.
    • Show fresh food and fresh ingredients being prepared by chefs as a way of enticing people to go.
  • YouTube channel
    • Applebees posts their television commercials on YouTube as a way of alerting customers to new deals while also tying together their new and old media platforms.
  • Partnerships- Weight Watchers
    • By partnering with Weight Watchers and creating a health food menu, Applebee’s is able to appeal to the market of health-conscious consumers, and thereby increase revenue by tapping a new market.
  • Magazines and print
By continuing advertising through traditional mediums Applebee’s is making sure they reach their entire potential market.
